PlotDie is an unofficial, fan-made companion for the Cosmere RPG, built as a hobby project. Here’s what an account is for and how your information is handled.
PlotDie keeps the characters, journals, and notes you create tied to your account, so they’re saved safely and load on any device you sign in from instead of living in a single browser. An account is currently required to use the app. It’s how your work gets stored and kept separate from everyone else’s.
Sign-in is handled by WorkOS AuthKit, a third-party authentication service. You sign in or sign up on WorkOS’s own hosted page, so PlotDie never sees or stores your password. Once you’re in, a single encrypted cookie keeps you signed in on that device.
PlotDie doesn’t keep a standalone account record. Your email and name live only in the encrypted session on your device, never copied into a database. What gets stored is the content you make in the app: your characters, journals, and notes, each tagged with a WorkOS account identifier so it stays tied to you. Feedback you send is saved as well, including your email so the maintainer can reply. All of it lives in a database hosted on Cloudflare.
Your information is used only to run PlotDie: to sign you in and to keep your characters and journals tied to your account. It is never sold, and it is not used for advertising or third-party tracking. PlotDie shows no ads.
Free forever. PlotDie is a hobby project, not a company, so there’s no cost and no ads, ever. If you have a question about your data, you can reach the maintainer through the in-app feedback tool once you’re signed in.
